The three Presentation College students who will represent Ireland in the F1 in Schools World Finals in Abu Dhabi this November managed to rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in technology and business at their first big outing as National Champions this week. Lee Campbell, Pauric Dempsey and John Harding from Autolaunch Racing attended the Excited Digital Learning Conference in Dublin Castle, where they exhibited their project to a number of the biggest technology and education companies in the world.

The young Carlow men managed to meet a number of interesting guests and speakers at the conference including the managing director of Lego education Europe Rene Lydiksen, the inventor of the mobile phone Martin Cooper and Minister for Training and Skills Ciaran Cannon, who organised the event. The team also managed to meet with contacts from Accenture and Microsoft Ireland.

The conference was organised to promote the use of technology in schools to positively engage students in the world of IT and what better example than the Presentation College students. The three boys had a great time and were delighted to show off their project which has seen them crowned national champions.
