Only the strongest will survive the rugby players' Clash of the Titans. (INSET): Darren O'Neill.

OLYMPIC BOXER Darren O'Neill was the guest judge when Tullow Rugby Club and Carlow Rugby Club went head to head in the ring.

' The Clash of the Titans' saw players from both clubs leave their boots on the pitch and square up to each other in the boxing ring on Saturday, December 15, in Carlow Youth Centre. To oversee proceedings guest judge Darren O'Neill wase on hand to determine which club came out on top.

The Tullow team had a secret inspirational weapon as local hero Sean O'Brien was also in attendance, coming straight from the Aviva.

To be crowned county champions, 30 brave men and women from both clubs put it all on the line after an intensive eight-week training programme that saw them go from boxing amateur to pro when they got the ultimate opportunity to compete in a boxing ring.

All the proceeds from this show will provide vital funds needed to keep the two clubs in action for another year.
