Older people flock to fancy dress dance

SOME unusual and scary characters danced the night away in the Seven Oaks Hotel at a sell-out Halloween dance for older people.

Passing ghouls could only have been impressed with the creativity of the costumes on display when 230 older people from all around the county attended the event which was organised by Carlow Older Person's Network.

Music was provided by The Ramblers and the dance floor was filled with a range of strange characters including the town sheriff, Mrs Doubtfire, a zombie nurse and a devil, to name a few.
