Motorist banned

Allowing himself to be driven in a vehicle without the consent of the owner meant two years off the road for one motorist at Carlow District Court last week. Keith McMahon, Newtown, Crettyard was charged with criminal damage and unauthorised carriage in or on an MPV at Doonane, Crettyard on May 13, 2004.

Allowing himself to be driven in a vehicle without the consent of the owner meant two years off the road for one motorist at Carlow District Court last week.

Keith McMahon, Newtown, Crettyard was charged with criminal damage and unauthorised carriage in or on an MPV at Doonane, Crettyard on May 13, 2004.

McMahon, who was not represented in court, was fined ?1,000 plus ?200 compensation in respect of the criminal damage charge.

He was fined a further ?500, put off the road for two years and had his licence endorsed for the unauthorised carriage.
