A CARLOW photography student was in the thick of all the glitz and glamour recently as she travelled to London Fashion week and had the opportunity to shoot like a pro.

Laura Sothernm, from Carlow, who is studying for a BA in Photographic Media at Griffith College, was joined by fellow student Stephen Spollen as they travelled from Dublin to Somerset House to 'Shoot the Show' as part of the Canon Student Network (CSN).

The CSN is designed to help inspire student photographers at degree and diploma level to take the next step with imaging and further develop their love of photography along with obtaining real world business advice.

Laura shot the catwalk show of famous designer Nicole Farhi from the official photographer's pit, the same pit where days earlier, the world's press were shooting the SS14 trends at London Fashion Week.

Sinéad Murphy, Photography programme Director at Griffith College Dublin said, 'It's a credit to our students' talent that they were chosen to take part in such a prestigious event. We are proud to be a partner of the Canon Student Network as it works alongside the Griffith College to ensure our students get the most out of the photography course and sharpen their ability.'
