FANS of The Saw Doctors are in for a special treat this month as members Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlewaite bring an acoustic show to Carlow, playing Saw Doctor's songs like you've never heard them before.
In the autumn of 2013, The Saw Doctors decided to take a year-long sabbatical. However, for Leo and Anto, taking a break from music was never an option and the pair have put together an acoustic show that will include different takes on well-known Saw Doctor's songs, versions of lesser-known band songs, a few from Anthony's solo albums and a few recently written with Tuam songwriter Padraig Stevens.
It wouldn't be unfair to say that Leo and Anto are among music royalty in Ireland , with Leo's role in The Saw Doctors having cemented his place in the hearts of people all over the country, while Anthony's fantastic sax playing captures massive attention on the greatest songs of The Waterboys.
The pair are thoroughly enjoying collaborating on this new, exciting acoustic show and they can't wait to take it to a Carlow audience. The show will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 20 at Carlow Arts Festival HQ at 9 Dublin Street.
Tickets are priced at €15, which includes a free drink, and can be purchased from Jennings Opticians.
