Great line-up for Rag Week at Carlow IT

THERE IS a stellar line-up for this year's Rag Week, which takes place in Carlow IT this week.
Rag Week, which kicked off on Sunday, will run until Friday. Some of the entertainments supporting the charitable events are Republic of Loose, The Original Rudeboys, Police Academy's Michael Winslow and International DJ Sidney Samson.
The events will be on campus in the college and also in the town of Carlow. Funds for the charities will be raised through ticket sales, sponsorship cards and street collections.
The five charities selected by the Students' Union are The Make a Wish Foundation, The Ross Nugent Foundation, Cuan Mhuire, The South East Simon Community and The Hingston Charity for single parents due to tragedy.
The charities were all proposed by students of the college. Last year over €20,000 was raised from Rag Week and the Students' Union will hope to reach a similar target this year.
For the first time ever the Rag Week lineup was released via viral video. The launch party had more than 300 students in the new Students' Union area. The video was posted to Youtube on February 7 and received over 3,000 hits in 24 hours. The video now stands on 7,100 hits.
The IT Carlow Students' Union has been working closely with the Town Council and An Garda Siochána to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and safe Rag Week.
