Gardai seize €120,000 of cannabis plants

A RAID in the early hours saw gardaí uncover a massive haul of cannabis plants with an estimated value of €120,000 in Carlow town.

The raid took place at approximately 215am at a house in The Fairways area. During the course of the search, Gardaí uncovered the plants as well as equipment used for the cultivation of cannabis.

Gardaí immediately seized the plants, as well as all of the paraphernalia, and a full technical examination of the scene was carried out.

A man, aged in his late 20s, was arrested as part of the investigation and was brought to Carlow Garda Station and detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

He was brought before Carlow District Court.
