Firefighter Michael honoured for 30 years dedicated service

A BAGENALSTOWN fire fighter was awarded for his 30 years dedicated to the fire and emergency services.

Sub officer at Bagenalstown fire station Michael Salter received a critical Public Safety Service At National Long Service Awards Ceremony in Dublin.

He was the only fire officer from Carlow to receive an award this year and he was presented his certificate and pin by Fergal O'Dowd T.D., Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government. The awards were made for service of 20 and 30 years, almost 20 years to the day on which the inauguration of the Awards took place in November 1992.
