LEIGHLINBRIDGE HAS been featuring in the new SPAR Christmas ad campaign.

The € 800,000 campaign was shot at different locations around the country and features a Christmas tree making its way along the Barrow by boat under the old bridge in Leighlinbridge.

The bridge is the oldest functioning bridge in Europe.

The chain convenience store travelled the country in pursuit of Christmas trees to feature in its new TV commercial which went live on Monday.

It features some obscure and not so obscure areas like Leighlinbridge, the Dursey Island cable car in west Cork, Pearse Street DART station in Dublin and Barnarlingan Wood in Wicklow.

The five- day production features filming in 18 different locations across the country, from a pool to a school, a horse to a boat, a sea cave to a SPAR shop and everything in between.
