A HUGE haul of cannabis plants in Carlow a few days ago has been followed by seizures of two more drugs hauls over the weekend.
Gardaí seized over €250,000 of cannabis plants in a house in Bullock Park in Carlow town on Wednesday evening.
A woman in her forties was taken into custody for questioning after members of the Carlow Drugs and Detective Unit swooped in and searched the house at 6pm.
Gardaí had been watching the house as part of an investigation into sale and supply in Carlow. The plants, which were found upstairs, were fully grown.
On Sunday evening a 30-year-old man was arrested in Graiguecullen where gardaí discovered speed and cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of €6,000.
And as part of an ongoing operation, gardaí from Carlow and Portlaoise searched a house at Kilminchey, Portlaoise, on Sunday evening, where they found ecstasy tablets, cannabis herb and cannabis resin with a total street value of €40,000.
This led to a follow up search of a house in Graiguecullen, where the local man was arrested. At this address speed and cannabis herb with a street value of €6,000 was found.
