Boyfriend charged with Lisa's murder

A 31-YEAR-OLD man from Fenagh has been formally charged with the murder of Bagenalstown woman Lisa Doyle, pictured right.
Unemployed Ger O'Hara appeared in Castlecomer District Court on Monday after being charged with murder.
Detective Brendan Murphy told Judge William Hammil that he charged O'Hara, of 4 High Street, Leighlinbridge, at 2.52 p.m. on Monday at Carlow Garda Station with murdering Lisa at the same address on Sunday, September 20. Detective Murphy said that after cautioning O'Hara, he replied that he'd 'nothing to say.'
Solicitor John O'Sullivan said that O'Hara was unemployed and applied for free legal aid. He also requested that a psychiatric assessment be carried out on the defendant. Judge Hammil granted both requests.
O'Hara was then remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison until next Monday, September 28, when he is due to appear again.
O'Hara, who was weaing a grey hoodie, kept his bowed throughout his brief court appearance.
