Statia Lakes receives a cheque for €91,000 from Eddie Banville, Head of Marketing National Lottery, watched by Marty Whelan, Gameshow Host, Anna Quinn who played on behalf of her mother Statia and Geri Maye, Gameshow Host.

A 96-YEAR- OLD Leighlinbridge woman who received a number of scratch cards for her birthday ended up winning €91,000.

Statia Lakes won the money, which included a holiday to Greece, on Saturday's Winning Streak TV Gameshow on RTE.

She isn't sure who exactly bought her the lucky scratch card one but it could have been her friend Alice Meaney, who was a contestant on the show herself about six years ago.

Statia's daughter Anna Quinn played on her behalf on the night. Statia has four children, Mary, Michael, Rose and Anna, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is a very quiet petite woman, who never ever misses an episode of Winning Streak.

Anna is married to Ollie and they have two sons, Sean and Alan, both of whom are living in Brisbane. They also have a daughter called Olivia, and she has a daughter Casey-Anna.

'I don't know what my mother's plans are for her winnings yet,' said Anna.
