THE following are the results of the Lotto Draw on August 1, 2013. Numbers drawn were 2, 13, 20 and 26.

There was no winner of the €7,200 jackpot. Lucky Dip Winners were as follows: €60 – Lucy Carthy, C/o Pedro, €30 – Heather Zerafa, C/o The Hall, and €20 – M. Coady, C/o Paddocks, Carlow. Next week's jackpot is worth €7,400 and your continued support is very much appreciated.


Jim Murphy, Lar Murphy, Karen Hayden, Liam Hendricken, Brendan Dowling and friends are competing in this year's Dublin City Marathon on October 28. They are fundraising for a number of local charities including Tullow Day Care Centre, The Cairdeas Centre, St. Patrick's Cheshire Home and other local charities. Friends of Tullow Marathon Runners will call door to door seeking sponsorship. There will be a raffle in Tullow Bingo and a collection at various supermarkets in town.


Bingo every Thursday night at 8.30 p.m. in the Capt. Murphy Memorial Hall, Barrack Street. Next week's Supervalu Jackpot will be €800. Your support is much appreciated.

The Motor Tax and Cash Office at Tullow Civic Centre has restricted opening hours during the summer months. The Offices will open from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. only during the months of July, August and September. Motor Tax can be re-newed online 7 days a week at www.motortax.ie.

Tullow Tidy Towns wish to thank everyone who supported and helped with their recent Novelty Bingo. €345 was raised.


St. Patrick's G.A.A. Club will hold a Clothing Recycling Drive on Saturday, August 17, to help raise funds for the Club. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels and textiles including shoes, bags and belts and soft toys. Books are accepted but NO school books. No household bric-a-brac. Mobile phones are accepted but please keep separate from clothing and textiles. Please drop items off to Br. Our upcoming fundraiser 'Its Strictly Dancing' (October 5) was launched on Tuesday night with a great turnout of dancers for this year's event. Dancing starts next week with practice being held in the clubhouse.

Senior training continues on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Youth training starts on Monday 19th August. Minis training starts on Sunday 8th September.

Una Keating of Tullow Library tells me that there was a great turn-out for the storytime for four to 10 year olds on Tuesday, August 6. Deirdre O'Byrne entertained the children with her lively and enjoyable performance. The next children's event is Creative Writing for 9 – 14 yrs on Thursday August 15 at 11.00am. Theme is 'STARS' followed by Story-time for 4 -10yrs on Tuesday 20 August at 11.00am.

The 'Big Read' competition is still open to children aged 6 - 12yrs. Closing date is 31 August 2013. Also any adults interested in attending the Literature Workshop, this will take place on Wednesday 21 August 2013 at 5.30pm. A sponsored walk in aid of St. Luke's Hospital, Rathgar will take place on Saturday the 17th of August at 4.00 p.m. The walk will start at Ardattin Hall. Cabaret afterwards in the Ardattin Inn with music by Tara Shamrock. Admission €5.
