Trip to Cooley

DAY Trip to Cooley Peninsula Co Louth.

Thursday 21st June. Coach leaves Palatine GAA Clubhouse Car Park, Bennekerry at 8.45am and Askea church car park at 9am sharp. We travel to Dublin to Valley Inn Monasterboice for refreshments then on to Cooley Peninsula to visit the Hill of Faughart – the birth place of St Brigid. Bring waters bottles to collect water from her shrine which is a place of pilgrimage. There are prayer points and the Stations of the Cross. We continue to the medieval village of Carlingford to spend time visiting the historical buildings all within walking distance of each other; the views over the Lough where the Dark Mournes sweep down to the sea; plenty of café's, pubs, boutiques and craft shops then on to Dundalk for 2 hours of shopping.
