ST STEPHEN'S DAY RUN: Despite the difficult conditions, there was a fantastic turnout of 100 runners, joggers and walkers at the Annual Tinryland AC Turkey Trot on St Stephens Day in aid of the Tinryland Tidy Towns Committee. Pat Byrne recorded the fastest time on the day of 21 mins 34 seconds while Brian O'Gorman correctly predicted his time to within a second of 29 minutes and as a result was the individual winner of the Turkey Trot.

There was a prizegiving ceremony afterwards in the local school where it was also announced that the event had helped raise over €700 for the local committee. The Tinryland Tidy Towns group would like to thank all who gave such generous donations on the day.


The AGM of the Ladies Football club will be held in Tinryland Clubhouse on Tuesday 15th January at 8pm. All members are asked to attend. We would like to encourage more parents to get involved in the club so if you feel you could spare an hour then we would love if you would come. New and Old members always welcome.


Tinryland GFC Lotto Results 30th December. Numbers Drawn : 13, 16, 19, 21 - No Winner (Jackpot €7,100). Winners of Draw €25: 1. Teresa McGrath; 2. Mick Doyle; 3. Keith McGrath; 4. Brigid Fields. Promoter's Prize: Jenny Fitzpatrick. Next draw took place on Monday 7th January with a jackpot of €7,200.

The Tinryland PTA would also like to thank the Teachers and children of the school for the very successful 'Step into Christmas' concert held on 7th December and the Whoops a daisy Angel concert which was very well supported and appreciated by all who attended. The funds raised from the Whoops a Daisy concert were donated to the Heart Foundation. Well done to all involved.

A reminder also to all the children that the Fine Frames Green Flag Water theme free photo school competition is coming up and we would encourage school children to take water theme photos and competition details will follow upon their return to school in January.

On behalf of everyone on the Parents Association it is wished everyone a very peaceful, happy and prosperous new year.


The Annual Tinryland Senior Citizens Party will take place on Sunday Jan 13th 2013 in Tinryland GFC Rathcrogue. Lunch will be served at 2 pm followed by entertainment.
