Carlow Douglas Jewellers, Tullow St. Carlow Carlow District Credit Union, Credit Union House, Askea, Carlow. Closing date for entries Friday 5th July 2013. THE BIG READ'S Summer Reading Challenge, is back at Carlow Libraries. This year it is open to all aged 6-12 years and runs from 1st July to August 31. Just drop in to your local branch to sign up. For more information please contact the Library on 059/9129705.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul shop is looking for good quality school uniforms. If your child has finished secondary school or is moving from national school would you like to donate the uniform to the Society. Donations can be made from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday at the St. Vincent's shop 46 Tullow Street, Carlow. Thank you.


Askea Parish Centre annual leave arrangements for July and August.

During the months of July and August the Parish Centre will close at 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It will re-open each evening to facilitate meetings that have been booked in. The Centre will remain open on Tuesdays from 9am to 10pm to collect Lotto tickets.


Askea Senior Citizens News: Summer outing to Waterford a& Tramore on Wednesday 24th July - Cost €10. Leaving Parish Centre at 9.45am, returning for tea at 6pm plus Bingo, Music and Dancing.

Holiday in September: Holiday to Cork staying in the 4 Star Castle Hotel, Macroom from Monday 16th September to Friday 20th September. Members who have not already taken part in the May outing will get a discount. Non members welcome. Bookings starting immediately. Please contact Marian at 059 9143010. Tours during the trip include Michael Collins Centre, Blarney Castle, Kinsale and Cork City.


In conjunction with the Gathering Weekend from 19th to 21st July, Bennekerry Senior Citizen's Committee and Bennekerry Active Retirement Association are planning to hold a Veteran Rose and Escort competition on Sunday 21st July in Duckett's Grove at 3pm.

The competition is open to anyone aged 50 years or older. They may or may not be from the area.

We would love to see people entering who are visiting the area for the Gathering. Entry fee is €20 per couple, payable in advance.
