The Ballon Fine Gael table quiz was held in Joe Doyle's lounge on Friday, 18th October. The winning team, with a score of 90, was comprised of Yvonne Walshe, Derek Conry, Michael Conry and John O'Connell. The runners-up, finishing on 85 marks, were Brenda Conway, Jo O'Donovan, Jim Conway and David Kenny.

Ballon National School Parents Association will hold their annual meeting in the school on Thursday 7th November at 8.00pm.

Rathoe Playschool will hold their AGM on Thursday 7th November at 7pm in the Playschool.

ATHLETIC CLUB AGM

The annual meeting of Ballon/Rathoe Athletic Club and Community Games will be held in Fr Flood House on Friday 15th November at 8pm. Parents of all children involved with either of these organisations are asked to make a special effort to attend.

St. John's Day Care Centre held their annual Halloween Party for the senior citizens of the town, all the patrons and friends from the caring centre Hacketstown and visitors from surrounding areas attended. Prizes were given to the best dress with the Bishop form Carnew winning first place, 2nd was the witch Billie Black, the queen Mrs Pollard winning third prize, other winners Fiona Healy, Pat Quigley, Clare Whelan, Martin Kavanagh, Baffle winners were Mauve Whelan Carnew first winning hamper other winners Seamus Doyle Clonmore, Joe Willis Carnew, Molly Cullen Baltinglass, Mary Whelan Knockananna and Ann Whelan Carnew. The event was organised by Pauling with the help of the Ladies from caring centre. Pauling thanked everyone for their help

PRIDE OF PLACE

Congratulation to Hacketstown on winning prize for town, also to Hillview Tce who also won an award in the Annual Carlow's Pride of Place in Mount Wolseley, Well done to Clonmore who picked up an award for the used cemetery section, The event is to recognises the people in our communities who give selflessly of their time in an effort to enhance the environment in which they live.

The parish Council asks that Church Yard Parking is for people with reduced mobility and special needs. Rathvilly Garden and Flower Club will meet on Wednesday 30th October at 8pm in St Patrick's Sports and Community Centre, Rathvilly.
