Jackpot €8000 Won. Numbers draw were7-13-18-21. They proved to be the lucky one's for young Savannah Keogh, 37 Fr. Cullen Tce, Rathvilly, as she alone won the Jackpot. Winning ticket was sold by Noel Donegan. Well Done Savannah.. Jackpot €1,000.

G.A.A. CLUB NEWS

The club are holding a race night on Saturday 8 Dec. 2012 in Molloy's Lounge in aid of club funds. Horses are €10 each.

GARDEN/FLOWER CLUB

Rathvilly Garden and Flower Club will meet on Wednesday 28th November at 8pm in St. Patrick's Sports and Community Centre, Rathvilly, it will be our Christmas night with Diane Gallagher an A.O.I.F.A Demonstrator and Teacher. Diane will be demonstrating Arrangements for the Christmas season, all of which will be raffled on the night, there will be Mulled Wine and mince pies served. All are very welcome to what promises to be a great night. Admission €5

PARENTS ASSOCIATION

The Parents Association will hold a 'Clothes for Clobber' fundraiser in aid of the School. Unsoiled and unwet clothes can be left into the School during the week starting Monday 26th November to Saturday 1st December.

YOUNG AT HEART

Christmas Party takes place on Sunday, 2nd December in Germaine's , Baltinglass. Committee Meeting on Monday, 12th November in the Phoenix Centre at 8.30 pm. FORÓIGE On the 19th October our Foróige Club took a trip to Omniplex Cinema in Carlow. It was a very enjoyable trip. Affiliation for this year will be closing in the next few weeks. Congratulations to Liam Kelly for winning Carlow Youth Person of the Year for 2012, it is a great achievement.

BIGSTONE KARATE CLUB

Members of Bigstone Karate Club travelled to the National Karate Championships at The National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, Dublin on Sunday 28thOctober 2012. Sensai Noel Amond brought 8 students aged 8 - 16 from his Bigstone Club and together they proudly brought back a total of 13 medals including 7 National Titles. A massive congratulations to Noel and indeed each of his students who took part, Dylan Kirwan, Fionn Morrissey, Oisin Morrissey, Luke Morrissey, Jack Hawkins, Abbie Kelly, Adam Lawler & J.P. Nolan. The sheer dedication and commitment by Noel and his students was evident during the entire event and they were delighted to add so many medals to their club's name. Well done to all!

COMMUNITY GAMES

We will be holding a party/presentation evening on Saturday 24th November 6pm in the Phoenix Centre for everyone who took part in activities over the last year. Presentations will be made to the children who represented Carlow in Athlone this year. If any child would like to showcase their musical/dancing or singing talents please feel free to bring along your CD/musical instrument. Refreshments will be served.

We will be having a table quiz in The Harp bar on Fri 23rd November at 9pm. Tables of four €20. We hope to raise enough money to purchase a muchneeded new tent for the Athletics Finals in Ardattin. A raffle will also be held on the night.

We would like the support of parents and the wider community.

RATHMORE NS

The school is celebrating 50 years on Sunday 9th December. There will be a celebration mass at 11 a.m. in Rathvilly church. This will be followed by a celebration in the school from 1 p.m. Old photographs and roll books will be displayed for all past pupils to look at. Santa will be arriving at 2.30 p.m.

There will be stalls and events for all the family. These will include bric-a-brac, cake stall, book stall, face painting, BBQ, Christmas stall, Welly throw, and target practice. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine will also be served. There will be a big raffle on the day with numerous prizes. We would like to invite everyone to come and join us on this special occasion.
