Muinebheag Vocational School

SKILLS@WORK

The 5th Year students from Muinebheag Vocational School recently completed the 'Skills @ Work' programme. This involved a local business, namely Stone Developments from Leighlinbridge, demonstrating to students how a modern successful enterprise is managed. Students also engaged in mock interviews, CV preparation talks, career discussions and visits to Carlow I.T. and Stone Developments.

School principal Mr. O' Flaherty congratulated students on their participation in the programme and believes it was an excellent course which should help prepare students for the world of work. Mr. Dermody, Deputy Principal, thanked the 'Skills @ Work' team for being so generous with their time in visiting the school over the past few weeks, and giving useful advice to students.

Team co-ordinator Mr. Fallon congratulated students Philip Rothwell and Micaela Brennan for giving a presentation to the group on the key learning points of the course. 'Philip and Micaela did an excellent job on their presentation, and we hope to be involved with this programme again next year' added Mr. Fallon.
