ALZHEIMERS TEA DAY

A tea/coffee morning will take place Thursday, May 1, from 10am-12noon in New Oak Community Centre in aid of annual Alzhiemer's Tea Day.

The Duckett's Grove Country Fair is being held on Sunday May 4th from 12 a.m. - 6 p.m. featuring a whole range of activities and entertainment suitable for all the family, including traditional craft demonstrations, a falconry display by Woodlands Falconry and a large craft and artisan food market. COMMUNITY GAMES

ASKEA COMMUNITY Games news: Congratulations to Askea's Community Games Boys under 12 soccer team on winning the county final with a fantastic performance last Monday night in the Superbowl with Ballon/Rathoe.

They will now go on to represent Carlow in the first round of the Leinster competition. The team consisted of Tim Phelan, Ben Akeryle, Kyle Klumano, John Ryan, Kian Lawlor, Cian Kelly, Arnus Ubartas, Christopher Supple, Robert Norton, Corey Connolly, Luke Ramsbottom, Adam McCarron, Terry Ffrench, Jake Murphy and Samuel Oluwabyi, massive thanks to the two coach's Trevor McCarron and Stewart Murphy.

Area Athletics training every Friday from 6 - 7pm at the St Laurence O'Toole track. Boys and Girls from U-6 to U16 are welcome and if any parent would like to help out please contact Patrice at 086 3743709 or Liz at 087 9877385.

AMY LAWLER FUND

The Amy Lawler Memorial Fund Annual Road Run takes place on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Tougher's Restaurant, Dublin Road, Carlow at 2:00pm. All proceeds to The Amy Lawler Memorial Fund which helps families struggling with serious illness. All kinds of vehicles welcome to take part.

Flower club

Carlow Flower Club will meet on tonight Tuesday April 29 in the Dolmen Hotel at 8pm, There will be a demonstration by Beatrice Hartog from the Conna flower club in Cork. There will also be a plant sale on the night. All are very welcome to come along, admission for non-members is €10.
