Unislim classes for 2013 commence Wednesday, 2nd January in Leighlin Parish Centre from 6-7pm and then on Tuesday as normal.


Leighlinbridge National School is asking people to keep any used postage stamps over the Christmas period and hand them into us in the New Year for the missions. Thank you and Happy Christmas to all pupils and parents.

Robert Donovan Prof. of English at UCD became the first editor of The Irish Catholic, a catholic publication and was appointed chairman in 1926 of the committee charged with censoring the racy material which was flooding Ireland at the time. He was a native of Leighlinbridge born in Main Street.

The financial comptroller of the first World Fair held in Chicago in 1890 was Leighlinbridge man, William J. Onohan. He was one of the leading figures in Chicago in the 2nd half of the 19th century.
