TEXT ALERT SYSTEM
A public meeting will take place on Friday 14th December in the Spellman Hall at 8.00pm.
Due to current crime wave in the area this meeting is in relation to setting up a text alert system in the area. Members of An Garda Siochanna, Victim Support, Local Representatives and Local Community Groups will also be in attendance. We hope as many people as possible will attend. ST. FIAAC'S PARISH SALE
The parishioners wish to tank every-one who supported St. Fiaac's Parish Sale. Here are the prize winners. SCHOOL 60TH ANNIVERSARY
To kick start the celebrations the Clonegal National School Parents Council are launching a 2013 Calendar on Friday 14th December at 2.30pm in the School. All are welcome. Calendars will be on sale at €5.00 each.
Anyone who attended school in 1952/1953 and would like to come to the school on the 14th December to remind us of what it was like, please contact the school if you are interested.
The AGM of Clonegal Juvenile Club was held last week. The club looked back on the year and forward to the coming year in the hope of even more numbers taking part in both football and hurling. The club is putting plans in place to ensure all age groups will be able to compete in hurling this year.
Due to the increased finance needed for this the club is urging Parents to assist with fundraising. A detailed financial report was given by Nick Roberts, Trainers and Mentors were put in place for all age groups and welcome all assistance provided by parents.
The officers elected were: Chairman: Tom Redmond, Secretary: Ger Dobbs, Treasurer: Nick Roberts, Children's Officer: Bernie Hickey, Committee: Michael Sheppard, Adrian Coleman, Patrick Nolan, Billy Murphy and Mick Nolan.
The Kildavin/Clonegal GAA lotto was held in Dunne's Lounge, Clonegal on Sunday 2nd December. Numbers drawn were 11, 19, 25 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000. Winners that matched three were, Brian Plunkett, Aaron O'Brien, L Power C/o Chrissie Fitz, Mrs Collier, Bridie Townsend, Siobhan Hayden, Rita Kearns, Mary Keane and Brian Plunkett, all receiving €20 each. Seller's prize goes to Tony and Tommy receiving €50. Attendance draw goes to Nigel Moran, Johnny Dunne and Teddy O'Leary.
The Christmas draw will take place in Ryan's "The Moss House", Bunclody on Sunday 16th December, Jackpot of €10,000 and reserve jackpot €4,800.
