PRIDE OF PLACE
Congratulation to the residents of Hillview Hacketstown on winning 1stprize in the County Carlow Pride of Place which was held in Mount Wolsey. This was in recognition of the great work which had been carried out on the green area and the erection of the new Grotto to Our Lady. The town of Hacketstown also picked up a third place prize.
A public meeting with a view to setting up a Community Alert Scheme in the Hacketstown area a meeting will be held on Tuesday November 13, in St. John's Hall at 8pm p.m. this covers Hacketstown, and surrounding areas

During the month of November a novena of Masses for the Holy Souls will be celebrated in Hacketstown Church. The Masses will be at 9.30 a.m. Monday to Friday, 7.30 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. Envelopes and blank forms for Altar List of the Dead available at the back of the church. Hacketstown Church - Collectors wanted for weekend Masses. Volunteers please give their names to Fr. McCormack.
PARENT AND TODDLER
Tynock School Parent & Toddler Group starting on November 12th at 9.30 a.m. in the prefab beside the school. Come along and have a cup of tea while your child makes new friends. Tynock National School Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday December 2nd 2012 12 -4 p.m. in Kiltegan Hall. Santa arriving at 1 p.m. Admission is free and Santa visit is €3. Clonmore GFC recently presented Hacketstown National School with a cheque for €4,606 following a fundraising campaign for the newly laid Astroturf pitch in the school.
The cheque was presented to Gabriel Kane principal of St. Josephs National School and Bridget Connolly (School Council Representative. Also at the presentation were Jim Boland (Treasurer, Clonmore GFC), Jim Whelan (Chairman, Clonmore Juveniles), Gabriel Keane (School Principal), Dermot Byrne (Secretary, Clonmore GFC), Colin Doyle (Secretary, Clonmore Juveniles) Gabriel Kane thanked the club for the cheque, work is continuing on Astroturf pitch.
St. John's Caring Centre is most grateful to Willie Whelan, Nellie Blake, Betty O'Toole, Dan Kane, the girls from the Centre, and everyone who helped to make such a success of the Auction. Amount raised was €2,600.
Knitting every Tuesday 2.30 p.m in St John's hall. Come along and enjoy a chat and a nice cup of tea and goodies. Knitting, embroidery, crochet, stitching - whatever suits you. Hopefully a few more will join us this season and it is only €2 for a pleasant afternoon.
