Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach

GCC U16 boys played St. Pauls, Monasterevin in the final of the South Leinster Junior D schools Football. Despite playing into a strong breeze in the first half, GCC were ahead at half time 2-3 to 0-8. The lead changed hands throughout the second half but the wonderful positive attitude of the boys found them level with 5 minutes to go.

The boys charged ahead with two more points to win 3-8 to 1-12. This was a great team victory with some really outstanding performances. Well done to all involved, including Máistir Ó Flaithearta who coaches the team.


The 6th year Chemistry class attended a revision course in Leaving Cert Chemistry Practical in Maynooth this week. The 6th year Physics class also attended a revision course in Maynooth.


Fourth years attended a workshop run by Niall Delahan of Wasa Wasa Workshops. The students learnt about African culture and music. They watch a video on the African people and learned about their culture, dance and music. The students also learnt to play African drums.


A CAO information evening was held in the school for sixth year students and parents. Maistir Stafford, the career guidance teacher, gave practical information and help on how to fill out the CAO form and choosing the right course. Iníon Ní Chonghaile, Príomhoide, was also on hand with some useful tips on how to get through the next few difficult months.
