Fourth vintage run

Ballyloughan ICA is having a Fun Cycle on Wednesday, June 18, for Cycle Week starting at 7.30 from Ballyloughan Hall and returning for refreshments afterwards.

This cycle is open to everyone of all ages. The Guild is also having a Bring and Buy Sale, starting at 8 pm on the same night with a raffle in aid of Saplings, Goresbridge. For any further information please contact 087 2062192 or any member of the Guild. Next meeting will be on Monday, June 16 at 8 pm. Balance of payment for the outing to Ennistymon in July is due to be paid by Friday, June 13. A few seats have become available for the outing; if interested contact members.

Ballinkillen Hurling Club Scrap Saturday - June 14 The collection of scrap metal is well underway. The Ballinkillen Club Grounds will be open from 10am to 4p.m if you have any stuff to drop in. You may also ring the numbers below if you need anything collected. Batteries are also most welcome as are clothes, bags and shoes. Irish country star Kathy Durkin will play Killoughternane Hall on Friday, July 11. Show starts at 8.30pm. There are a limited number of tickets available. Tickets €20, advance purchase a must. For more information and tickets please contact Jim at 087 6759353.


Killoughternane Music has finished for the summer and will reopen in September. Classes in Irish traditional music on the tin whistle, button and piano accordions, concertina, banjo and fiddle. Classes are open to all agea.

On Sunday May 25, Bagenalstown Pitch and Putt Club hosted the Carlow/Kilkenny/Waterford Stroke Play Championships and came away with five prizes.

Intermediate Grade winner Roy O'Neill. Intermediate Grade runner-up Patrick Robinson. Junior prize winner Darren McNally.

Ladies grade winner Marion Kinsella and Over 55s winner Joe Paul Kelly. Congratulations to all.

The course is open from dawn to dusk for green fees of €5 per person with clubs and balls available for hire.

Membership is also available at rates of family €90, adults €70, students (16-18) €35 and under 15s €20.

This week is Men's Health Week and Bagenaltown Family Resource Centre will host an Information Morning for all on Friday, June 13 at 10.30am. It will be a fun and informative morning with guest speakers Lorcan Brennan (Men's Health Coordinator), Martin Doheny (Men's Health and Development) and the Men's Development Network in attendance on the day.
