Christmas Fair

A Christmas Fair will be held in Lisnavagh House on Friday, November 29 from 4pm-8pm and Saturday, November 30 from 10am - 5pm This will be the sixth Christmas Fair in Lisnavagh House and once again they look forward to the festive, cosy atmosphere in historic surroundings and hope for an even more successful fair than ever before! Entry and parking are free. Donations at the door will be presented to the Carlow Hospice fund.

Carlow library

Fancy Festive Film Fun For Free? Join us in the library as part of Christmas in Carlow on the following Saturdays - December 7th, 14th and 21st at 10.30am for the screening of a seasonal film. Ages 6-9yrs.

Hilwalking club

Tullow Hillwalking Club walks coming up: Tomorrow Wednesday 27th November , walk in the Blackstairs mountain range. Meeting at Ascea carpark at 6.30 p.m. Walk leader is Barry ( 086 - 1098244) . Friday 29th November - meeting at 7pm in the Co-op in Bunclody for club walk in the Blackstairs mountain range. Sunday, December, 1 John (086-3462957) will lead a walk in Wicklow. (Grade - easy) Meeting at Barrack st. At 9.30 a.m. Wednesday evening walks are a good opportunity for beginners to try out hillwalking. If it is your first walk please contact the walk leader to find out the necessary details of what to wear, bring etc.

Christmas CD

A CD of Christmas Carols, Poems and Music featuring local choirs and soloists will be launched by Bishop Denis Nulty in St. Clare's Church, Graiguecullen on Friday, December 6 at 8.30pm. The Cd 'Cuisle na Nollag' includes Adeste Fideles and O Sanctissima sung by the Poor Clare Sisters. The launch will include a short concert of the carols performed by the participants. All welcome.

Irish conversation

Céad míle fáilte to the Irish conversation circles in Carlow this week. Come along to the weekly get together in the library on Wednesday, November 27 at 10.30am. Also to the monthly gathering in Teach Bar followed by the traditional seisiún on Thursday, November 28 at 9pm and join the conversation. Irish speakers and learners welcome. No charge.

Carlow ASD Support Group will hold their next monthly Group Meeting in The Dolmen Hotel on Tuesday December 4 at 7.30pm. Open floor meeting to include discussion re: Christmas Party

SVdP need donations

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul ' Vincent's ' shop at 46 Tullow Street Carlow urgently needs donations of winter clothes before Christmas. They also hope to have a 'Christmas corner' in the shop during December so if you have any Christmas decorations, toys or gifts they will be gratefully received in the shop Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm. The Society would like to thank everyone for supporting the shop during the year.

St. Leo's talent

St Leo's has got talent St Leo's College Carlow are holding a Talent Show in the school on Thursday November 28 at 8pm. All are welcome. Admission Students €5, Adults €10, Family €20.

Baking demonstration

A fundraising baking demonstration in aid of Forward Steps Resource Centre with Oonagh Barrett and guests from TV3;s Great Irish Bake Off, will be held in Mount Wolseley Hotel on Thursday, December 5 at 8pm.

Aonach na Nollag

Gaelcholáiste Christmas Fair Theyare holding a Christmas Fair or 'Aonach na Nollag' in the Gaelcholáiste on Sunday, December 1 from 10am to 2pm in the school. There will be many craft items on sale made by the students and other local crafts people.

Talk on suicide

Dr Steve Critchlow is author of 'Finding the Yes in the Mess', a wonderful book that looks at why there is so much suffering in the world and how we can respond in the face of so much calamity and disaster.

Dr Critchlow will be in Carlow on Saturday, November 30 and will give a talk on How to Overcome Suicidal Thoughts in the Seven Oaks Hotel Ballroom starting at 7.30pm. Admission free.

Zumba marathon

Zumba Carlow are hosting their second annual 'Zumbathon' in aid of 'Talk It Over', Carlow and S.O.S. - Suicide Prevention and support in The Tower, Dinn Rí on Friday, November 29 from 7pm to 9.30pm. Flower demonstration

Carlow Flower Club will host a Gala Christmas demonstration on Tuesday, November 26 at the Dolmen Hotel at 8pm.

The demonstrator is Mary Kehoe who is both a demonstrator and a teacher in the Association of Irish Flower Arrangers (AOIFA). There will be a sales table with all the Christmas sundries available. Also 'bring a container and buy one'. All the exhibits that Mary makes will be raffled at the end of the evening. Admission is €10.
