PARISH FUNDRAISER: The Parish Fundraiser was a great success with the top prize going to Tiernan Patterson, Monavea, 2nd prize Sarah Brennan, 3rd prize May Doyle. Other prizewinners were Mary Wheatley, Charlie Lyons, Willie Dowling, Josie Nolan, Luke Bailey, Michael Shiels, Sammy and Mary Kelly.

Wellies Rule: 2013 commenced with record numbers descending on Castlecomer for the 33rd Annual wellies race. Blessed with a dry sunny day and a magnificent turnout of vintage machinery along with some modern show pieces the parade drew favourable comments from the large number of visitors. Several club members togged out in a variety of different type of wellingtons to go in the 4 mile run along with hundreds from all over the country and beyond. Some in for the crack and others giving it plenty of wellie. In general a good day all round.
Leinster's Best: The club were just announced as the best club in Leinster in the junior and under 23 track and field section for which they will receive the 'Dew' shield at the Leinster star awards. To make the evening all the better we have secured the best senior club award from the Leinster senior championships. Many congratulations to all the athletes who represented the club in these championships to win the top club in Leinster at senior level for the first time ever.
TableQuiz: All are invited to take part in the club's annual table quiz in Behan's on Thursday the 24th January. Why not organise a few of your friends and give it a go, your support would be much appreciated.
Club A.G.M.: The annual general meeting of the club will take place on Monday the 14th January at 8 o'clock in the clubhouse. All members, parents and intending members are welcome to come along and review a magnificent year for the club. Thanks to all our members, supporters and the local community for making it such a great year.
Laois Senior Cross Country: The Laois credit unions county junior and senior cross country championships will take place this Sunday in Graham's field at the back of Behan's, Tolerton with the action getting under way at 12 o'clock. Juvenile relays also on the programme for U.10, 12, 14 & 16 boys and girls.
