Colaiste Eoin

STUDENT CONCEPT

Well done to Katie Smith who took second prize in the County Enterprise Board Concept Competition. Katie had an ingenious invention for ladies called I-Mirror, the idea is simple an eyeliner with a mirror at the end, making the application of this tricky product easy for all. All well done to Shauna Donegan, Jack Phelan, and Kelly Nolan who took home Runners Up Awards. Shauna had a wonderful idea for a Bacteria Scanner, Jack created a cradle with a rocking chair attached and Kelly came up with Wardrobe Wonder, an app design that scans your clothes and puts outfits together for any occasion.

YOUNG AMBASSADOR

Congratulations to Liam Kelly and Joe Byrne who were the Colaiste Eoin representatives in the Lyons Club Young Ambassador Competition. Liam and Joe were chosen to represent the school on the basis of their commitment to their individual communities. Liam is very involved in Foroige and has displayed wonderful leadership skills in Colaiste Eoin as a result of his work in the youth sector. Joe is also involved in community work in Knockannna and is a member of the Meitheal team in school. The boys were interviewed by a panel of three representatives from Lyons Club Carlow along with ten other county nominees; we wish them every success in the competition.

CARLOW IT DEBATING

Good luck to Liam Kelly, James Shannon and Aine Byrne as they take part in the I.T. Debating Competition. The motion for the evening is that "This house would incentivise women in the construction industry ". The debate will be held in tandem with the I.T Open Day for students, we wish the team every success.
