The next club day walk is on Sunday 17th November to Wicklow with Barry (086) 1098244 leading an easy walk.
The group meets up and leaves from Barrack Street at 9.30am sharp. Newcomers are welcome and are advised to contact the leader in advance. The evening walks continue on Wednesdays leaving Askea Church car park at 6.30pm and on Fridays leaving the Co Op yard beside Supervalu in Bunclody at 7pm.
Please be advised that all walkers must bring a torch for the evening walks. Contact Paddy (087-2792064) for Wednesdays and John (086-2772633) for Fridays. People who wish to take up hill walking and mountaineering are advised that the Wednesday evening walks are geared for newcomers more than the other walks.

Carlow Credit Union is seeking nominations for their 2014 Charity of the Year. Applications are invited from charities based within the environs of Carlow Town. They must have full registered charitable status and proof of this must be supplied with the application together with a brief outline of aims and details of the services supplied within the community. Carlow Regional Youth Service in conjunction with Music Generation Carlow will be running music lessons for young people aged 13 - 18. The venue for the lessons is the Vault, Burrin St. Tuition is available in Guitar, Drumming or Vocals and delivered by qualified music tutors from Music Generation Carlow. The cost of the lessons are €7 per session and will take place on Saturdays in the Vault from 9.45am - 1pm. A workshop focusing on music at funerals will take place in Portlaoise Parish Centre on Tuesday, November 12 at 8 p.m. The workshop will be led by Fr. Liam Lawton and Julie Kavanagh of Kildare and Leighlin Faith Development Services and is designed for both choir directors and individual cantors who lead music at funerals. Come along to explore when and what to sing at both the Vigil for the Reception of Remains and at the Funeral Mass. The cost is €10 euro, covering a music pack for each participant and tea/coffee.
