A Halloween party held in the community hall on Thursday 1st November was a most enjoyable afternoon. Senior citizens from Baltinglass hospital, Glendale nursing home Tullow, Rathvilly and surroundings areas, it was hosted by the staff of St. John's day care centre.
Pauline did a job great doing face paints and dressing people up on the day. Jim Quigley and Ned Foley, Rathvilly played the accordeen and dancing and sing song took place, and a young lady stepped danced. A lovely meal was served by the ladies. The afternoon was enjoyed by all. Some lucky people won prizes in the raffle.
Ann and staff are thankful to all who attended and supported the party. Rev Fr Mc Cormack also attended on the day.
During the month of November a novena of masses for the holy souls will be celebrated in St Bridgid's church Hacketstown. The masses will be celebrated at 9.30am from Monday to Friday will be at 7.30pm on Saturday evening 7.30pm and sunday 11.00am.
TONY HUNT RIP
Tony Hunt, Ballyconnell died suddenly at his home on the 1st of November (all saints day). His remains reposed in the Crablane funeral parlour. His remains was removed to St Marys church at 1.30pm on Sunday 4th November, for 2pm requeim mass. His burial took place in Cricren Cemetry afterwards. May he RIP. Tony is mourned by his cousins, alll his relations.
Numbers drawn on the 28th October were 19,12,23, and bonus 21. The jackpot is now €1,000 with bonus €2,100, winners of €40 each were: Sean and Alan Barrett, Baltinglass, Andy O'Toole, Ballyconnell, Mary Nolan, Myshall, Cathel Friel, Kilenure, Paddy Simpson, Kiltegan.
Bingo is on in St Marys hall ballyconnell every sundday night at 8pm. The snowball is €850, Parish envelopes - recent winners: Gerald and Mary Dowling, Ballachaclay and Dan Molloy, Carrorea.
