Do you remember the discos in the Killoughternane Hall during the mid-70's? Do you remember youngsters calling to your door selling tickets late into the night, getting a lift home from a kindly father? Do you remember the busloads of people and no drink? Do you remember Fintan the DJ. Well we're having a revival, a 70's disco for those who were attending discos in the 70's. And of course for those who were maybe that little bit too young.Killoughternane Hall, Saturday 10th November. Adm €10. Mick Hanly is giving a once off concert in Killoughternane Hall on Friday 23rd November. Mick has been a stalwart of the live Irish music scene for years. He has performed with Moving Hearts and Planxty. Among the many hits he has written is the Song "Past the Point of Rescue" which was a huge hit in the U.S. for Hal Ketchum. Tickets for this concert are €20 and are available from Jim 087 2612194, Sean 087 2609720, Hugh 086 8309874 and Olivia 087 2233307. This will be a concert not to be missed. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly.


Do you want to go on a healthy walk? You are welcome to join some walkers to walk at your own pace in the Rathanna area. Walk around Kiledmond, Crannagh Road and back to Rathanna. This walk is about 3 miles and takes 1 hour. We meet in the Car Park in Rathanna every Tuesday evening at 6.55.


An open evening will be held in Borris Vocational School on Thursday November 8 from 7.00 - 9.00 pm. Students' work and projects will be on display. Parents wishing to enroll students for next September may do so on the night. All are welcome.
