Specsavers Carlow is celebrating a 'spec-tacular' ten years in business this month in their store at Exchequer House at the Potato Market.
The shop has been looking after the optical needs of the people of Carlow since July 2004 and they are hoping that they can go on to enjoy another ten years in business.
Led by Store Directors Michelle Carew, Mary McGinley and Grace O'Donnell, the Carlow store started with just eight members of staff, but today it employs a total of 20 people including three fully qualified opticians and three dispensing opticians, two lad technicians and a team of highly trained optical advisors.
Michelle, along with another two team members have been in the store since its opening day.
'We are delighted to be celebrating our store's success over the last ten years and we would like to thank everyone for their support along the way,' said Store Director Mary McGinely. 'We have had a fantastic ten years with our team and would like to give special recognition to my co-director Michelle as well as Kim Coakley and Dolores Farrell, who have been at Specsavers Carlow since day one. Also deserving of a very special mention are our customers, old and new. We are very much looking forward to celebrating many more birthdays here in Carlow.'
As a thank you to their loyal customers, Specsavers held a fantastic '10 Glasses for 10 years' competition in store where they gave away ten pairs of designer frames to ten lucky customers. As well as this, the store will continue to offer €10 eye tests until the end of August.
