SPEAKING at the launch of the new 'Think Ahead' initiative, Taoiseach Enda Kenny has urged the general public in Carlow and across the country to plan for end of life.
The Irish Hospice Foundation has asked Carlow people to embrace the new initiative aimed at encouraging people to plan for end of life by recording their wishes in the event of an emergency, serious illness or death.
Developed by the Forum on End of Life in Ireland, Think Ahead urges people to Think, Talk, Tell, and record and review their personal preferences for future medical, financial and personal care.
Speaking at the launch of phase 2 of Think Ahead the CEO of the IHF, Sharon Foley, said everyone has the right to a say in their care at all times, including end of life.
'But we also have the responsibility to let other people know our decisions and this is where Think Ahead can help,' she said.
