The moment of truth will happen for Carlow People reporter and Voice of Ireland hopeful Pádraig Byrne this Sunday night as he takes to the stage in The Helix, Dublin for his first live show.
Pádraig is a member of Team Bressie and will face stiff opposition from Waterford's Ciara Donnelly and Cork man Jamie Stanton for a place in the next round.
'The whole thing has been an amazing experience so far,' he said. 'It's not something I thought I would've been into, but I've really enjoyed the whole thing since the start and I'm hoping to make it last another couple of weeks.'
Pádraig hopes to follow in the footsteps of his namesake, Borris native Pat Byrne who managed to win the competition previously. 'Pat is a legend and a lovely guy and if I could charm the public half as much as he did I'd be doing well,' he laughed. 'Hopefully the people of Carlow will get behind me like they got behind Pat and we can have another ginger Byrne as a Voice of Ireland winner!'
Pádraig's first live show airs at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday night and he's hoping that the people of Carlow will pick up their phones and text or ring to keep him in the competition.
