Summer Camp

Places are available for Carlow community summer camp, catering for 5-9 and 10-12 year olds. Dates are, Monday July 5, to Friday, July 12 inclusive. Venues are St. Fiac's school, Askea Boys, Gaelscoil and C.B.S. Rates are €35 unwaged (current proof of receipt of Social Welfare is required), €45 employed. Muinebheag Juvenile GAA Club committee is collecting unwanted clothes, paired shoes, handbags, belts, curtains, bedding and towels to help raise funds for the club. If you wish to donate any of these items please give to a club member on or before Thursday, July 4 or contact 086-2373917 who will arrange collection from you. Your support would be much appreciated.

Newtown Fenagh Nurney Senior Citizens group wishes to sincerely thank all who contributed to their church gate collection recently; Connolly's Super Valu for allowing them to collect outside their shop, and to the collectors who generously gave their time.

The summer outing will take place on Wed. July 10. This year the group visited Kilquade Gardens, back to Gorey for shopping and then to the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow, for dinner and dancing. Please contact a member of the committee if you wish to travel.


The 15th Annual Mt. Leinster Way Walk from Corrubut Gap, Myshall to Rathanna, will take place on Sat. July 6 at 2pm. Gathering in Coote's Pub, Main Street, Bagenalstown, from 1pm. Buses will leave the Fire Station at 1.30pm. Register at the Corrubut Gap, Myshall at 1.50pm. Buses will return to Bagenalstown, Corrubut Gap and Myshall. All proceeds to the Carlow Relay for Lie, Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team and Carlow Hospice. Adults €20 each. For more details contact 059 9721238.


Ballinkillen Area Community Alert Scheme will have its official launch night on Wed. July 3 in Ballinkillen//Lorum Community Centre at 8pm. All are welcome.


The club congratulates all children who took part in the Community Games in Ardattin on June 22 and 23. With a strong field of 78 athletes the club brought home 37 medals in total. A big thank you to all the children involved and those who won medals; to parents who were involved throughout the year and to all the team leaders. The club aims to win more medals in 2014 and will be trying to build on present numbers on Friday evenings, which at present numbers 70 children. New children are always welcome. Tir Na nOg Memorial Group would like to thank everyone for their generous support at the Graveyard Mass collection on the night of the Graveyard Mass recently. Many thanks to Peter Bolger for supplying signs and Jo from Ashlawn Garden Centre for donating the Angel that is placed at the swing gate entrance to the graveyard.


Places available for Summer Camps which will run from July 1 to August 2. Activities include:- indoor and outdoor games, swimming, baking, face painting, arts and crafts, science experiments, field trips, themed days etc. These camps are for senior infants - 6th Class.
