THE POOR Clare nuns opened the doors to their monastery on Friday night to welcome some 40 people inside for the official launch of a spiritual cd that includes two hymns sung by the Sisters.

Mons. Brendan Byrne, Diocesan Administrator and acting bishop for the Diocese, launched the cd 'As Toibreacha an tSlánaithe' in St Clare's parlour with eleven Sisters.

The cd is a compilation of prayers, hymns and scripture readings 'as Gaeilge' and reflective instrumental music.

Rev. Mother Rosarie extended a warm welcome to all to the Monastery and said the Sisters were delighted and honoured to be associated with the cd. The Poor Clare Sisters sing the beautiful latin hymns Salve Regina and Regina Caeli.

The cd sells for €5 and is available from the Capuchin Friary, the Poor Clare Monastery and Glór Cheatharlach as well as from the Askea, Graiguecullen and the Cathedral Parish Centres.
