The programme is divided into two strands, the Community Strand and the Professional Artist Strand, and will run concurrently from November 2013 to November 2014. Dancers, writers, directors and theatre makers from all backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome to apply.

The Professional Artist Strand was set up to run alongside the Arts Council's Artist in Residency Award as a partnership between an artist, an arts organisation and a local authority. This format aims to empower and support the work of the artist, as well as facilitating the artist in finding a deeper connection with the local community.

The Community Strand is open to applications from an artist or a group of artists practicing and/or residing in Country Carlow. The Professional Artist Strand open to applications from and artist or a group of artists who are professional theatre artists or arts professionals.

To apply applicants should apply to hmullan@gbshawtheatre.ie with a CV or biography (including two references), detailing their experience, and by complete an application form.Applications for the
