Neil Jordan on way to Borris

Academy award winning Irish film director Neil Jordan will visit Borris as part of the Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas, June 8 to 9.

Academy award winning Irish film director Neil Jordan will visit Borris as part of the Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas, June 8 to 9.

Neil won an Academy Award for The Crying Game and also won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival for The Butcher Boy.

Jordan's latest film Byzantium stars Saoirse Ronan, Gemma Arterton and Jonny Lee Miller.

'We are delighted that Neil Jordan will be our Special Guest at the 5x15 Stories at the Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas,' said a spokesperson for the event.

5x15 Stories brings together five passionate speakers, each with 15 minutes to talk about anything: Isabel Fonseca, author of Bury Me Standing, Colm O' Gorman, Amnesty chief, John Butler, author and filmmaker, Rick Stroud television director, and film director and writer Neil Jordan.
