A member of St Mullins Macra na Feirme Club, Maura is a student whose interests include Sports, Reading and of course Macra. The Festival, sponsored by FBD in partnership with The Farmer's Journal, will take place from November 8 to 10 and will welcome 27 Queens, representing Macra na Feirme counties and regions throughout Ireland and overseas.

Over three action packed days, Maura and the other Queens will be appraised by a distinguished judging panel who will take into account appearance, personality, energy, confidence, dress sense, rural knowledge and elocution to choose a contestant who best exudes the qualities of today's modern rural woman.

Performing over the course of the weekend will be the likes of comedian Bernard O'Shea, Ruaille Buaille, Deuces Wild and Robert Mizzell.

Tickets for those wishing to go along and support Maura are available from The Bridge House Hotel and for further information visit: www.queenofthelandfestival.com.
