Ballymurphy road

Following on from the clean up of St. Patrick's Park clean up last week this week the residents of Barrack Street, the Ballymurphy Road get in on the action. Volunteers are asked to assemble at Bro. Leo Park at 9 a.m. armed with high visibility vests, gloves, a bin bag or two, litter pickers. This work will be carried out in conjunction with Carlow Co. Council and Carlow County Development Partnership and TUS.

Parkville Lotto

The following are the results of the Lotto Draw on 18th April 2013. Numbers drawn were - 2, 5, 19 and 20. There was no winner of the €12,600 jackpot. Lucky Dip Winners were as follows: €60 - Ger Whelan, C/o The Hall, €30 - T. Kirwan, C/o Joe Whelan and €20 - William Halpin, C/o Griffin's. Next week's jackpot is worth €12,600 and your continued support is very much appreciated. As the Lotto jackpot has reached its legal limit, a second Lotto jackpot is running along side with a jackpot of €4,400.

Day Care AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Tullow Day Care Centre will be held in the Centre on Tuesday 23rd April (tonight) at 8 p.m. Everyone most welcome and anyone interested in joining the Committee please come along on the night.

Community Games

St. Patrick's Athletic Club and Tullow/Grange Community Games are back training every Monday and Friday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. outdoors. €2 euro per child and all ages welcome. Community Games will be holding their area finals shortly. More details to follow later.

Youth theatre

Sincere congratulations to the members of Tullow Youth Theatre on their Film Festival in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre last Friday evening. The members of the group wrote, directed, filmed, acted etc. in six short films which demonstrate why the group won the 2012 HeadsUp U-18 Movie Award. We were richly entertained by films such as 'The Dream Catcher' and 'Red Balloon'. Sincere congratulations to Peter Kelly, the members of Tullow Youth Theatre, and The Arts Department, Carlow County Council and the members' parents for their continuing support.

Amanda Tapley

Anyone interested in art will make it their business to go visit Tullow Civic Centre to view the wonderful painting hanging in the foyer . Amanda Tapley is a local artist who has been exhibiting since 2004. Some of her previous exhibitions include the Dublin Fringe Festival, group exhibitions in Spain and more recently two solo exhibitions in Carlow. The body of work on display in Tullow is inspired by County Carlow landmarks such as Duckett's Grove and Oak Park Forest.

Tennis club

Junior coaching will continue for the next six weeks in the tennis club from 6 - 7 p.m. at a cost of €5 for members and €10 for non members, followed by senior coaching from 7 - 8 p.m. Fun tennis will also continue on Saturdays from 2 - 5 p.m. with a cost of €2 for members and €5 for non members. CRISP course

CRISP Centre The CRISP Centre, Tullow is now enrolling for a new training course aimed at teaching participants how to use a range of online selling websites including Ebay,, Donedeal, Buyandsell, and

The course will cover (i) Fundamentals of online selling. (ii) Exploring the sales platforms and registering accounts, (iii) Basic product photography and scripting advertisements, (iv) Tracking sales, item delivery, and customer satisfaction and (v) Deciding on a part-time income or full-time business.

This 12-hour course is being subsidised by Carlow County Enterprise Board under the Training Partnership Programme. The course fee per participant is just €15. Each course will be delivered over 6 two-hour sessions in on Friday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Tops group

Carlow Tops, Tullow Variety Group and Very Special Guests present 'The Gathering' on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th April at 8 p.m. in Murphy Memorial Hall. Tickets available on the night at the door: Adults: €10. Children and O.A.P. €7.

Active retirement

Members please note: There will be sessions of exercises to Music on Friday, April 26. They will be held in the Tullow Parish Community Centre at 11 a.m. This is a new activity and is suitable for all levels of fitness. You are encouraged to come and try it out. Open to non members. Auto Jumble

An auto jumble sale will be held on Sunday 28th April in Ardattin Field in aid of Dyslexia Workshop, Tullow. 10 a.m. -4 p.m. Please support.

Table quiz

A Table Quiz in aid of "Relay for Life" will be held on Friday 17th May in Foran's Pub at 8.30 p.m. €20 for table of 4. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Novelty bingo

A Novelty Bingo in aid of Tullow Day Care Centre will be held in the Centre on Monday, May 13 at 8 p.m. Single book is €4 and double is €6. Usual refreshments and raffle on the night. All support would be greatly appreciated

Fun run and walk

Fun Run/Walk and Family Day on Sunday 21st April at 11.30 am from Carlow Rugby Club. Due to health and safety issues, we are unfortunately unable to allow people with buggies or pets participate in the fun run/walk. Registration for Adults €15 and 10 - U 18's €5. Bring along the kids for a fantastic fun filled day. Lots of free entertainment and kids activities!

There was no winner of last Lotto jackpot draw. The numbers drawn were 1-4-6-27.
