Des all revved up as he lands dream job

Carlow native and aspiring motorsport videographer, Des Foley has taken a massive step towards kick-starting his dream career as he was revealed as the overall winner of the Budweiser Dream Job competition at an event in Dublin recently.
Des, originally from Old Leighlin, will now receive a total prize fund of €50,000 which includes a €40,000 cash prize and a €5,000 equipment bursary as well as practical mentoring sessions with experts in video journalism.
Des was among four other talented finalists who were identified by the competition organizers from over 1,000 applications over the summer. Following this, over 15,000 members of the public voted for the Dream Job finalist that most inspired them and Des came out on top with 4,000 votes.
'Motorsport is something that I have been passionate about since a young age,' said Des. 'Winning the Budweiser Dream Job competition will allow me to hone my video journalism skills and launch my career as a full time photo and video journalist at motorsports events all over the world.'
Judges of the competition included Dave Harris of Universal Music Ireland, fashion designer and business woman Heidi Higgins, Love/Hate actress Aoibhinn McGinnity and lead singer with Hermitage Green and former Munster rugby star Barry Murphy.
