Men and women around Carlow will hit the dance floor to learn some new moves while raising money for the Irish Heart Foundation.

Voice of Ireland winner Pat Byrne and local fashionista Faith Amond are just two of who have signed up to take part.

No experience is required, as a chorographer will provide six weeks intensive training for the many different dance styles.

'We will help you choose an appropriate style,' said dancer and event manager Rachael Ellard.

'You do not need a partner, as we will provide one for you. It's a fantastic way to improve your fitness levels, make new friends, learn to dance and most importantly raise money for the Irish Heart Foundation.'

The event was launched on Tuesday last and will take place on Saturday, July 6, in the Dolmen Hotel.

'It's going to be an a spectacular night with a huge production, we are expecting a massive crowd so if you want a chance to see Carlow's heroes take to the dance floor get your tickets early, we will be running lots of competitions on our Facebook page's DanceCarlow,' she added.
