As part of the Borris Gathering programme, which runs from August 2 - 10, the National Country Fair is expected to bring upwards of 10,000 visitors to town from every corner of Ireland and the UK. The event will take place at Borris House, ancestral home of the Kavanagh family, and will be the jewel in the crown of the town's week long Gathering which also includes entertainment and live music in Borris town, a barbecue and the launch of a book commemorating the Borris to Passage East Railway Line.
It's been a busy few weeks for organisers of the Country Fair who have been working closely with the Kavanagh family who own Borris House and the Tidy Towns Association to ensure that this year's event is the best yet.
Along with all the fishing, hunting and shooting events, there will a number of family activities, one of the highlights being the world famous Yakolevs Aerobatic Display Team who will be appearing in the South East for the first time. Over 200 stalls and stands are also booked. For more information, visit www.nationalcountryfair.ie.
