WICKLOW TOWN has reclaimed top spot from St. Patrick's. The Wicklow Cup champions got the better of Wolfe Tone Celtic by two goals to one to knock the Saints off the head of the table on a weekend that saw the last of the clubs make it to the halfway stage of their league campaign.
Eddie Kelly and Eric Dunne did the damage for the Finlay Park against the Bray side, who were making their seventh outing of the season; the fewest of all the teams in the second tier.
Although Town may be the top dogs at the minute, many sides are circling menacingly beneath them with games in hand waiting to pounce. One of those sides is Celtic Stars and they stormed to a 5-2 win against Avonmore FC B in Drummin on Sunday.
Paddy Byrne helped himself to a double, with Tony Byrne, John Kavanagh and Lukasz Niewadiomski all adding singles.
