Tribute paid to Olympian Adam

MEMBERS of the gardai paid tribute to their colleague Garda Adam Nolan at Bray Garda Station recently.

The Enniscorthy native is stationed in Bray and the boxer qualified for the Olympic Games held in London last summer.

A reception was held at the station to honour his fantastic achievements.

Adam is just the second Wexford boxer to have qualified for the Olympics, the first being his coach Billy Walsh.

Nolan is also a two-time Irish welterweight champion, having won the title in 2011 and 2012.

Chief Superintendent Tom Conway, Cathaoirleach of Bray Town Council Mick Glynn, and Bray Chamber President Ian Donnelly were among those who attended the reception to congratulate Adam on the Thursday before Christmas, with Eithne Walsh making a special cake for the event.

He was among the entourage to take to the stage alongside Katie Taylor in front of a 30,000 strong crowd in Bray after the Olympics.

He received a very warm welcome home in Bray.
