Baltinglass Golf Club
A very successful men's section AGM took place on Saturday evening last. The members thanked the captain for his work and commitment to the club over the last year.
In his speech Brendan spoke of the great honour in holding the office of Captain, and was very grateful to everyone for their support.
The highlights of the year for him were the Cullen Trophy success, his Captain's Prize weekends and hosting the Jimmy Bruen Shield qualifying section and the 'Leinster Secretaries outing for the GUI during the year.
The Captain was also very thankful to the weekly sponsors for their continuous support to the Club. Tom O'Neill PGA Professional and the Juvenile committee were complimented for their great work with our vibrant juvenile section. The Course staff came in for special mention for the high quality and the upkeep of the course.
The OFS who play every Wednesday during the winter and spring months were applauded for the great atmosphere they bring to the Club when playing their outings.
Our President John Glynn paid tribute to the members of the committee for their work in the club and was also high in his praise for the Cullen Trophy winning team, in which he was joint manager.
The new committee consisting of: Captain Pat Byrne, President Padraig Kavanagh, Vice Captain Sean O'Connor, Section Secretary Fran Quaid, Competitions Secretary Richard Lynch, Colm Cooney and Stephen Greene were elected to commence duties in 2013.
Ned Cremin, the former hurling great from Kiltegan was the winner of week three in the Winter League with a score of 32pts.
Playing with Ned was winner of the Frank Hunt Perpetual Trophy for the last two years, Bryan Kilcoyne, who also scored 32pts.
Leader of the Winter League to date Liam Molloy added another 12 points to his total to increase the gap to 5 points at the top.

The Bridge Hotel Golf Society
The match play final takes place next week between Tony Foley and Harry Kavanagh. Good luck to both players. The usual weekly competition will also be held on the day. Both competitions will be held at Blackwater Golf Club. Coollattin Golf Club
Last Sunday's Christmas competition was won by the team of Paul Murphy (10), Tom Ryan (16), Donal Levingstone (14) and Frgus Garett (17). For the thirteen hole competition they returned the magnificent score of 73 points. Runners up with a score of 72 points were John Cox Byrne (5), Sham Byrne (17), Ger Bolger (15) and Mick Shortall (15). In third place were Brian Shannon (15), Matthew Cowman (13), Sean Doyle (18) and Packie Gorman (23) with 70 points.
Next Friday sees the inaugural get together of the disciples. This is a weekly competition for golfers of all ages and abilities - men and ladies. The only criterium is that they are available for a game of golf on Fridays.
Macreddin Golf Club
Week 2 of the winter league saw a reversal of the first two places from week 1. Gerry Phelan took first with a great score of 41 only beating Sean Breen on the count back. Extensive earth moving has been done on our new driving range and practice facility, which we hope will be available in spring of 2013. Don't forget the date for AGM of Tuesday 27 November.
