Last Sunday's Christmas competition was won by Noel Byrne (15), Luke Byrne (16), Paul Tyrell (16) and James Harte (12) with a score of 70 points.
Well done to Paul Tyrell who had hole in one on the 16th hole. His playing partner and fellow Tinahely man, James Harte had a birdie on the same hole.
The nine points gained here certainly smartened up their card. Runners up with 67 points were J.J. Doyle (9), David Orr (9), Tony Moran (21) and Tom Hassett (25). Third place went to Martin Kirwan (14), Dave Coates (18), Aidan Travers (23) and Shane Byrne (16) who comined for a score of 63 points.
Friday's Disciples have their second outing on Friday of this week. On this occasion it is a 13 hole team event. The competition is open to all and the entry fee is 5 euro for members and 10 euro for visitors.
The first outing for this illustrious group takes place to Macreddin on December 14th. Our January outing will take place to Killerig.
Anybody thinking of buying a Christmas gift for a golfing friend could do worse than buy a Coollattin Voucher. These vouchers can be redeemed in the pro shop, in the bar, in the restaurant, for green fees or towards a 2013 membership sub. They are on sale in the bar and in the pro shop and are available in any multiple of €10.

Week 5 in the Winter League didn't see much movement at the top of the Leader board; Liam Molloy reaffirmed his lead getting an extra eight points. Bryan Kilcoyne got nine points to narrow the gap to eight points and David Whelan is keeping in touch a further two points behind Bryan with two weeks to go.
Results - 1st: Seamus Kavanagh (15) 23pts; 2nd :Michael Kavanagh (15) 22pts; 3rd: Austin Kealy (16) 22pts.
Next weeks domestic cuts are Seamus Kavanagh -2, Ned Cremin, Austin Kealy and Gerry Barnes -1.
