TONY Darcy showed Arklow United who was boss as he blasted Fairwood Celtic above the Ferndale Park side in the Division 3 table.
United have been flying high in recent weeks but Fairwood Celtic are still the top dogs and they walked the walk on Sunday as Darcy smashed home a superb effort in the second half to give his side a 1-0 victory at Dunne's Field.
Shamrock Celtic's chances have evaporated somewhat in recent weeks but they're still picking up the points. The latest set came from the Back Alley, where Celtic registered a 1-4 triumph over Carnew United. Frankie Marron struck a double against United. Rob Gillespie (penalty) and Stephen McGuinness also got their names on the scoresheet on Sunday.
United's local rivals Carnew Celtic also suffered a heavy defeat. They had to travel all the way to Bray for their mauling; Fassaroe YC were the side to inflict it. The Youth Club ran out 6-0 winners to breach the top four.
Avonmore FC and MK Dons also accrued maximum points over the weekend. The Dons overcame Greystones United by three goals to one. Tamas Boros' goal couldn't prevent 'Stones from falling to defeat.
St. Fergal's were Avonmore's victims. They put up more of a fight than Greystones but nevertheless they had nothing to show for their efforts. Dan Hill and Bobby Messitt were on target for the Bray side, but Avonmore took the points thanks to Oliver Byrne (2) and Wesley O'Toole.
