A BRAY FAMILY is in mourning this week following the sudden death of 27-year-old Richie Doyle.

Richie was rushed to hospital Monday evening after he collapsed while playing football with friends at the Loreto College Astroturf pitch.

He was taken to Loughlinstown Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

His devastated family, including parents John and Jackie and siblings Thomas, Carina, Derek and younger brother Robbie, the well-known St. Patrick's Athletic soccer player, were this week struggling to come to terms with their loss.

Richie was a popular young man and a past pupil of Presentation College Bray.

Local Cllr. Pat Vance, a cousin of Richie's father, said that the whole family was devastated by what happened.

'He loved playing a bit of football - and he had no history of ill health whatsoever,' said Cllr. Vance.

The removal service takes place at the Queen of Peace, Putland Road, at 5.30 p.m. on Thursday, with the funeral Mass on Friday morning at 10 a.m.
